I was born in Pomona, California in 1973 and was raised in a small town called Landers, CA. This is where I found my lifelong passion and love for animals. I grew up on a working farm where we raised what we ate. This is also where I learned to communicate with animals on a level most humans can not. Despite knowing I had the heart in working with animals, I initially went into the medical field for a 25 year old career helping the community one person at a time. Burn out led me to reevaluate my path.
I started as a pet sitter, where at one pivotal moment in that job I was viciously attacked by a client’s dog. Determined to better understand canine behavior and the role humans play in that, I found a mentor and worked with him to better understand and eventually established my own dog training business. Coming into my 5th year as a dog trainer, I am one of the many few that specialize in aggressive and reactive dogs.
I am also the only dog professional that has created and teaches employees in various industries on safely encountering dogs during work, from delivery drivers, real estate agents, to home health aides.
About Heather

Hi, I'm Roxzee!

Where furry paws go to train!
Our Happy Clients

Heather’s knowledge of dogs and their behaviors is out of this world. She’s taught my severely aggressive dog Chowder how to be able to coexist in ANY very busy, dog saturated environments as if she's never had a problem before. I NEVER imagined being able to take Chowder for walks let alone enjoy them myself. Now when I take Chowder out for walks or just going to a local coffee shop to enjoy coffee on the patio, these are my newest favorite times of the day. I can’t thank Heather enough for the gifts and tools she has given me and Chowder through her training programs. SHE’S WORTH EVERY PENNY and then some. Don’t sleep on this training, get your life back and go enjoy it with your fur baby.

I don’t even know where to begin. Heather came to the rescue for me and my son. She took care and trained my son’s 1 year old Golden Retriever while he started a new job. She is the BEST!!! She is knowledgeable and can help you with what is best for your dog. I wish I could take Heather with us to our new city. I was across the country and Heather even went a step further and helped my son navigate his new city. The dog was trained so well and continues to behave. THANKS SO MUCH HEATHER. Have no idea what I would have done without you.

I have been a foster for Bella, a German Shepherd for an AZ rescue who was found abandoned at a golf course near us. We did a slow intro with our German Shepherd and it worked, at first. Over time, Bella’s reactivity and aggression resulted in needing to keep them apart, on different sides of the house via a gate. We worked on socializing her and her interaction with us, all friends, family or anyone who came into the house was friendly, loving, well-mannered but would change when seeing another dog. In a discussion with the rescue, they suggested a trainer who specializes in and has had strong success with highly reactive dogs like Bella, Heathers K9 Community. Heather came, met with and evaluated Bella with fear aggression that she felt could be overcome with training.
I’ve had German Shepherds for 50 years, have been a pet sitter for 20 years, dealt with people aggressive dogs where I was attacked and taken down by a Great Dane but have not had experience with a highly-reactive, aggressive, fear-based dog. I’ve met with and worked with many trainers throughout the years but none had Heather’s expertise. She has the innate ability to read, understand and instinctively get into the psyche of dogs like Bella to help them heal and let them live the life they should.

Heather has given us and our dog a new life. The training doesn’t stop when they come home which can be difficult at times. However, Heather makes this process doable and as simple as possible. She also helps you understand how she does things and why so that you feel empowered to keep the training going. Not to mention she gave her a solid foundation for us to work off of. Nico is still working through triggers, however, she is MUCH more manageable and way less stressed out thanks to Heather’s training. Also, she doesn’t mind the baby, which was our biggest concern. I think she actually kinda likes him. My dog is a lot happier and our whole house is much more peaceful thanks to Heather. She even gave my brother’s Aussie some training when she brought Nico home. If we ever have any questions she is happy to help and makes sure we know that.
Heather is a very special person. You can tell she is living out her true calling. We absolutely loved getting to know her on a personal level. We really feel connected to her and know she has our backs through this entire process. Our experience with her was A+ and an absolute answer to prayer. Thank you thank you thank you❤️

Heather is a life saver! My two female Yorkies started fighting viciously to the point where they could no longer even be in the same room together. I interviewed other trainers, but I felt an immediate connection with Heather during our phone consultation. She gave me hope! I opted for her in home training because I wanted to learn first hand how to train my dogs. It was the best money I’ve spent. She taught me how to actually train my dogs and get results! They can now be in the same room together, which hadn’t been possible in over a year now. Heather also taught me overall training which has enriched my dog’s lives. They are happier dogs now and I have my sanity back! I absolutely recommend her. My only regret is not finding her and hiring her sooner. She is the real deal! I am eternally grateful for her.

We had an exceptional experience working with Heather as our dog trainer. From the outset, she was extremely personable, demonstrating a natural rapport not only with our dog but also with us as owners. Her approach was both professional and compassionate, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Heather’s expertise was evident in every session. She offered insightful pointers tailored to our dog's specific needs and even went above and beyond by providing guidance for our other dog who was not part of the formal training.
Her flexibility with scheduling was a tremendous help, and she made every effort to accommodate our availability. One of the most impressive aspects of her service was her willingness to keep our dog over the weekend to address a few lingering behavioral challenges. This extra effort made a significant difference in our dog’s progress and speaks volumes about her dedication and commitment to positive outcomes. In addition to hands-on training, Heather provided valuable supplemental materials to reinforce the lessons at home.
Her well-rounded approach ensured consistency and supported long-term success. We highly recommend Heather’s dog training services to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and effective trainer. Her professionalism and genuine passion for animals truly set her apart.
